Three Cape Girardeau teenagers face felony charges after a Tuesday afternoon disturbance at Benton and Themis streets, police reported Wednesday.

About 4 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to a call about a fight during which a firearm might have been displayed, said Darin Hickey, public information officer for the Cape Girardeau Police Department.

Officers found three people in the area who matched the descriptions of those who might have been involved, detained them and discovered two had handguns, and another was carrying prescription pills, Hickey said.

All three suspects were arrested, he said.

Jeremy L. Rector, 19, was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and unlawful use of a weapon and was in custody on $20,000 bond Wednesday afternoon, Hickey said.
