A husband and wife, Charles and Judy Thrower of Cape Girardeau were installed May 16 as heads of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Auxiliary.
The ceremony was at the district convention held at Charleston VFW Post 4294.
Thrower was installed as commander of the 15th District, Department of Missouri Veterans of Foreign Wars. His wife was elected and installed as district president of the auxiliary.
The couple will visit each of the 32 posts and 20 auxiliaries in the district, representing 4,530 VFW members and 2,465 auxiliary members.
Attending from the post were Calvin Vogelsang, Floyd Smith, Arnold Schaefer and Pete Goodheart. Auxiliary members attending were Gleneta Vogelsang, Pat Crossno, Jewell Lincecum, Leona King, Phyllis Jackson, Retha Popp, Nellie Jacops, Sandi Gammons and Blanch Johnson.
