The Town Plaza Shopping Center is taking on a new look for the Christmas holidays.

"We gave already installed banners around the light poles in the area," said John Sander, of Sander True Value Hardware, which is located in the shopping center. "We're also in the process of installing new lights around the entire canopy along our strip."

In past years, the light poles were decorated with a Christmas tree outline.

"We decided to use banners this year," said Sander. "This way we can change the banners throughout the year."

The canopy lights will be permanent, noted Sanders. "They're clear lights, and we'll leave them up all year," he said.

Sander said the traditional large Christmas tree would be placed in the parking lot at a later date.
