Travis Tritt pleases with classic hits at SEMO District Fair

About 2,600 people turned out Friday night for country music veteran Travis Tritt at the SEMO District Fair.

Nine-year-old Jacy LeGrand of Cape Girardeau was among the fans anxious to see Tritt.

"I'm here to see Travis Tritt," LeGrand said. "I listen to music a lot. Most of the music I can sing to."

LeGrand was on the television show "Toddlers and Tiaras" and won an award.

While lights swept the stage Tritt made his entrance to boisterous applause, hoots and yelling. His first song was "Drive."

"This is my first time to see Travis," said Kathy Thomas of Gideon, Mo. "I brought my daughter because she wanted to see it. I'm a big fan."

Tritt's repertoire included some of his older songs like "Be Somebody" to selections like "Folsom Prison Blues." He pleased the audience with the ever popular "Trouble."

"I'm just here to see Travis," said Pam Welker of Benton, Mo. "It'll be the first time. 'Trouble' is my favorite song."

Glenn Cutrell and Regina Anderson, both of Cape Girardeau, were in the audience.

"I'm here to see Travis Tritt," Cutrell said. "Because I like country music."

Anderson added, "I'm a forever fan of Travis."
