MT. KISKO, N.Y. Trans World Airlines has postponed its move from Chicago's O'Hare Airport to Midway Airport.

The transactions concerning the transfer of facilities at O'Hare with American Airlines have not been closed, TWA officials said this week. "Until they are closed, TWA will continue to offer daily flights from O'Hare to St. Louis, New York-JFK, and Kansas City."

TWA Thursday announced its first-quarter operating report.

The firm reported operating at a loss of $144.4 million for the three months ending March 31, 1991. That compares to an operating loss of $100.7 million for the same period of a year ago.

TWA officials say the deterioration of operating results was due to the Persian Gulf War and the economic recession in the U.S. Passenger traffic decreased 24 percent from the same quarter of 1990.

TWA reported a net loss for the quarter of 488.2 million.
