A Bell City man and his passenger were injured Monday evening after another driver pulled into their path after stopping at her mailbox.
The accident happened south of Bell City around 5:30 p.m. The Missouri Highway Patrol said Melissa A. Lovins-Buley, 24, of Bell City pulled onto the opposite side of the road to a mailbox, then crossed both lanes of traffic toward a private drive.
She was struck by a northbound 1993 Chevrolet driven by Jim F. Rampley, 63. He was treated at the scene. His passenger, Jim F. Rampley, 12, of Hillsboro, Mo., received moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
