Two motorists were hurt Sunday afternoon after a fiery crash in Stoddard County.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper Clark Parrott, at about 4:30 p.m., Richard Reutzel, 79, of Advance, Mo., was southbound on Highway 25 in a 2003 Ford van when he attempted a left turn onto County Road 307. Reutzel turned into the path of a northbound 1990 Chevrolet K2500 driven by Angela L. McClean, 29, of Cape Girardeau. Parrott said the van caught fire after the collision, and Reutzel was pulled from the van before it burst into flames.

Parrott said Reutzel and McClean received moderate injuries from the crash. Reutzel was taken by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center and McClean was taken by private vehicle to Southeast Hospital. Both drivers were wearing seat belts, Parrott said.
