Two people were injured in a one-vehicle rollover crash about 5 p.m. Tuesday on southbound Interstate 55 near mile marker 94, firefighters said.

One person was thrown from the four-door car, according to Cape Girardeau fire battalion chief Fred Vincel. Both were taken by Cape Girardeau County Private Ambulance to a hospital, Vincel said.

The car drove off the right side of the roadway, but it was not clear what caused the crash, Vincel said.

Vincel did not give identifying information about the victims or their injuries.

One lane of I-55 was kept open during the investigation of the crash scene, Vincel said.
