Two robbed at gunpoint in Cape Girardeau on Wednesday

No one was injured when an unidentified man robbed two people at gunpoint on William Street early Wednesday morning, police said. About 1 a.m., two people were sitting in a pickup in the 900 block of William Street when a man opened the passenger door and forced his way into the vehicle, police said. The man displayed a handgun and demanded money from the victims, investigators said. The man fled southbound on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. The incident remained under investigation Wednesday.
