BENTON, Mo. -- Two Scott County teenagers were seriously injured in an automobile accident at 9:05 p.m. Sunday, according to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by 17-year-old Caleb A. Crumley of Benton veered off County Road 401 east of Benton, struck a tree and overturned on the road. Passenger Stephen I. Schott, 17, of Chaffee, Mo., was ejected from the car. Crumley was taken by air to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. Schott was taken by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center. Neither was wearing a seat belt.
