The Board of Regents will consider approving a campus master plan and endorsing a plan to set up a new polytechnic institute at Southeast Missouri State University that would focus on technical training.

The regents will meet at 1:30 p.m. today at the Show Me Center.

University officials want a $71.9 million operating budget in 1997-98, including $65 million in core program requirements.

The university has to submit its budget request to the Coordinating Board for Higher Education as the first step in the state budget process.

Also on the agenda are resolutions to appoint a 125th anniversary steering committee and a presidential inauguration committee.
