CAIRO, Ill. -- According to the Illinois Department of Transportation, U.S. 60/62 in Cairo will be reduced to one lane at the Mississippi River bridge starting Monday. Flaggers will help control the traffic while inspection crews are inspecting the bridge. On March 23 and March 24, the entire bridge will be closed during the day. Work is expected to be completed by March 25, weather permitting. Through traffic should seek alternate routes.
