Valedictorian: Jessica Anderson. She plans to attend Taylor University in Upland, Ind., and has accepted the Taylor University Christian Leadership Scholarship, the Wal-Mart Foundation Scholarship, the Kiwanis International Earl A. Collins Memorial Scholarship, and the Thomas G. Otto Scholarship. While in high school she served as president of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and her sophomore class and vice president of the National Honor Society, Chamber Choir and Beta Club. She was also active in the prayer group, Student Advisory Committee, Student Senate and Spanish club. She participated in tennis and the swim team where she was a member of the All-State relay team three years. She is the daughter of Dave and Jan Anderson.

Salutatorian: Catherine Gooden. She plans to attend St. Louis University. She received the Dean's Scholarship and Bright Flight Scholarship. While in high school she was involved in National Honor Society, Letterman's Club, National Forensics League, track, cross country, Who's Who Among American High School Students, received the science and forensics awards, and the Air Force Award for math and science. She is the daughter of Eric and Jean Gooden.

Notre Dame

Valedictorian: April Thompson. She plans to attend the University of Missouri-Columbia in the fall. She plans to pursue a degree in a health-related profession. She received a Bright Flight Scholarship and the university's Curator's Scholarship. In high school, she was involved in National Honor Society as vice president, senior class vice president, SADD, concert choir, French club, and basketball. She attended Missouri Girls State in 1994. She was chosen to the Who's Who Among American High School Students, as exchange youth of the month, for the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Award and the Bausch and Lomb Science Award. At St. Vincent de Paul Church she is an accompanist to the Children's Choir and has also been a candy striper at St. Francis Medical Center. She is the daughter of Joseph "Bud" and Sharon Thompson of Cape Girardeau.

Salutatorian: Kim Westrich. She plans to attend Southeast Missouri State University where she received a Regents' Scholarship. She plans to major in mass communications. In high school, she was involved in the spring musical, basketball, concert choir, SADD, pep club, National Honor Society, serving as its president 1994-95. She was also chosen as exchange youth of the month in March. She is the daughter of Ken and Vickie Westrich of Scott City.

Jackson

Valedictorian: Jon Mark Milde. He received the French Club Scholarship, Bright Flight Scholarship, Dean's Honorary Scholarship from Washington University at St. Louis, Curator's Scholarship and the Physics Department Scholarship from the University of Missouri-Columbia. In high school, in was involved in student council, student body vice president, FBLA, National Honor Society, SADD, French club, science club and golf team and participated in the Chemistry Bowl and Math Field Day. He received the Hugh O'Brian Youth Foundation Leadership Participant Award, Air Force Environmental Awareness Essay Contest outstanding entry, biology, math, Silver Arrow, French and academic achievement awards. He is the son of Dr. Mark and Dr. Cheryl Milde.

Salutatorian: Erica Trickey. She plans to attend the University of Missouri-Columbia. She received the Curator's Scholarship, Bright Flight Scholarship, National Merit Corporation Scholarship and the Conley Scholarship. While in high school she was involved in FBLA, National Honor Society, SADD, symphonic band, Chemistry Bowl, Scholar Bowl, Spanish club, track team and Hi-Step. She is the daughter of Stan and Judy Trickey.

Scott City

Valedictorian: Kristi Louise Glueck. She plans to attend St. Louis College of Pharmacy in St. Louis. She received the Missouri Higher Education Bright Flight Scholarship, Southeast Missouri State University Governor's Scholarship, faculty memorial and president scholarship from St. Louis College of Pharmacy, Curator's Scholarship from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, the John Mathis Memorial Scholarship from Lone Star Industries and the United Paperworkers' International Union Scholarship. She is the daughter of Jim and Pat Glueck of Scott City.

Salutatorian: Shawn Nichol Barr. She plans to attend Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va. She received the President's Scholarship from Southeast Missouri State University, a scholarship from Liberty University and a scholarship from the Scott City Bank and Trust. She is the daughter of Tom and Patty Barr of Scott City.

Oak Ridge

Valedictorian: Craig Lynn Sebaugh. He plans to attend the University of Missouri-Rolla. He received the Bright Flight Scholarship and Curator's Scholarship. In high school he was involved in National Honor Society, president of the science club, senior class vice president, attended Missouri Scholars Academy, received the DAR Good Citizen Award and was a member of the Excels Class. He also participated in the Math Field Day and Regional Science Fair. He is the son of Dan and Linda Sebaugh of Daisy.

Salutatorian: Mary Darlene McLane. She will attend Southeast Missouri State University, majoring in civil engineering. In high school, she was secretary of the National Honor Society and a member of business club, pep club, SADD and Spanish club. She was named to Who's Who Among American High School Students, a recipient of U.S. National Award in mathematics, a U.S. Achievement Academy, All-American Scholar, and a National Leadership and Service Award winner. She is the daughter of Bob and Karen McLane of Oak Ridge.

Delta

Valedictorian: Heather Crader. She received a Regent's Scholarship from Southeast Missouri State University where she plans to attend. Also, she received the MFA Agri-Service Scholarship, along with the Presidential Educational Excellence Award, College Preparatory Certificate, and the George Washington Carver Award. She is the daughter of Lender and Pat Crader of Whitewater.

Salutatorian: Meredith Cox. She received the Presidential Scholarship from Southeast Missouri State University. She received the top math-science award, the Presidential Educational Excellence Award, College Preparatory Certificate, the George Washington Carver Award and the National Scholar-Athlete Award. She is the daughter of George and Mary Nelle Cox of Delta.

Chaffee

Valedictorian: Matthew Hanlon. He has received a Curator's Scholarship, College of Engineering Scholarship and Boys State Scholarship from the University of Missouri; a Governor's Scholarship and a Missouri Leadership Scholarship from Southeast Missouri State University; a Hall of Sponsors Scholarship and a College Academic Scholarship, Wal-Mart Scholarship and a Missouri Bright Flight Scholarship.

Salutatorian: Brian Payne. He has earned a Curator's Scholarship from the University of Missouri and a Missouri Bright Flight Scholarship.

Advance

Valedictorian: Brandi Payne. She received a Regents' Scholarship from Southeast Missouri State University. In high school, she was involved in Beta club, science and math club, FBLA, German club, band, SADD and volleyball. She participated in the Regional Science Fair and Math Field Day. She is the daughter of Gerald and Kathy Payne.

Salutatorian: Laina Middleton. She received a President's Scholarship from Southeast Missouri State University. In high school, she was involved in FBLA, science and math club, Beta club, Quiz Bowl, pep club, SADD, softball, volleyball and a Missouri Scholars Academy nominee. She participated in the Math Field Day.

Oran

Valedictorian: Stephani Patterson.

Scott County Central

Valedictorian: Sarah Northern. She will attend Southeast Missouri State University. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Northern of Sikeston.

Salutatorian: Tywon Hamilton. He will attend the University of Missouri-Columbia. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Rose of Oran.

Leopold

Valedictorian: Jeff Turner. He will attend the University of Missouri-Columbia where he received the Curator's and Bright Flight scholarships. In high school, he was involved in Beta club, pep club, basketball. He participated in the Missouri Scholar's Academy, the HOBY Leadership Seminar, the Jackling Institute and the REA Youth Tour. He received the Presidential Award for Academic Excellence, the George Washington Carver Award, the U.S. Air Force Math and Science Award and awards at Math Field Day. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Turner of Marble Hill.

Salutatorian: Robin Thiele. She received the Missouri Bright Flight Scholarship and the Edward and Ellen Kniep Memorial Scholarship to attend the University of Missouri-Columbia. She also won a Security Bank Scholarship and the Lutesville Motor Company Scholarship. In high school, she was senior class secretary, pep club secretary, Beta club treasurer. She received the George Washington Carver Award and the President's Award for Academic Excellence. She is the daughter of Wayne and Shirley Thiele.

Zalma

Valedictorian: Heather Nall. She will attend Southwest Baptist University where she received the Trustee's Scholarship and the Clinton Scholarship. She also won the Security Bank and Trust Company Scholarship. In high school she was involved in FHA, Beta club, speech team, newspaper staff. She received the Optimist Youth Appreciation Award, the I Dare You Award, the Hugh O'Brien Youth Foundation Award, science award, child development award, choir award, Tandy Technology Scholar and the George Washington Carver Award. She is the daughter of Jerry and Sandra Nall of Sturdivant.

Perryville

Valedictorian: Sarah Caldejon. She will attend American University in Washington. In high school, she was involved in varsity band, National Honor Society and foreign language club. She was selected as honorable mention to Missouri Scholars 100 Program, listed in Who's Who Among American High School Students, second place in state Knights of Columbus Essay contest. She also was involved in Girl Scouts where she achieved the Gold Award. She is the daughter of Emiliano and Nancy Caldejon.

Salutatorian: Bridgette Buchheit. She was involved in cheerleading, National Honor Society, the treasurer of concert choir, varsity club, Senior Advisory Committee and the corresponding secretary of Student Council. She received geography and health awards, was listed in Who's Who Among American High School Students. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo E. Buchheit.

St. Vincent de Paul, Perryville

Valedictorian: Missy Kirn. She plans to attend Fontbonne College in St. Louis where she had been offered a full-tuition scholarship. In high school, she was involved in volleyball, basketball, softball, student council, SADD, Sodality, National Honor Society and pep club. She received a Bright Flight Scholarship and was selected to Who's Who Among American High School Students. She is the daughter of Harold and Judy Kirn of Perryville.

Salutatorian: Scott Pingel. He plans to attend Webster University in St. Louis. In high school, he was involved in football, basketball, golf, KTJJ Dream Team for football and basketball and he was chosen SVHS Athlete of the Year. He was a member of National Honor Society, was listed in Who's Who Among American High School Students, and a DARE role model. He was a scholar athlete in football and basketball and was selected as a second team All-State quarterback. He is the son of Wayne and Janet Pingel.

Egyptian

Valedictorian: Regina Durham. She received the Illinois Merit Recognition Scholarship, Shawnee Community College Honors Scholarship and Valedictorian Scholarship. She attends Shawnee Community College through the Escrow program. In high school, she was involved in Beta club, photography club, science club, pep club, SADD, ALPHA peer leader and a student librarian. Among her awards are Illinois State Scholar, Who's Who Among American High School Students, Modern Woodmen Award for Outstanding Proficiency in Advanced American History, Illinois Science Teachers Association Science Award, President's Award for Educational Excellence and recognized by the Southern Illinois Society for Achievement. She is the daughter of Charles and Brenda Durham of Elco, Ill.

Salutatorian: Michelle Lipe. In high school, she was involved in Beta club, student council, science club and a member of the Scholar Bowl team. She was listed in Who's Who Among American High School Students, was a Daughters of the American Revolution Award recipient and received the President's Education Award. She is the daughter of Mike and Marcie Lipe of Olive Branch, Ill.

Anna-Jonesboro

Valedictorian: Kristy S. Vines. She received the Southern Illinois University-Carbondale Presidential Scholarship where she plans to attend. While in high school, she was involved in student council, National Honor Society, the local honor society, Who's Who Among American High School Students; Illinois State Scholar, outstanding senior, math team, Scholar Bowl team, French club, Beta club, and Mu Alpha Theta. She also was chosen Rotary Club Student of the Month and to the U.S. National Mathematics Association math team.

Salutatorian: Ken Hight. He received the President's Scholarship from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale where he plans to attend. While in high school he was involved in the local honor society, was an Illinois State Scholar, on the math team, (7th in state Algebra II, Most Valuable Junior,) Scholar Bowl team, Olympiad team, Spanish club, basketball, football and golf. Other awards are second in social studies at the state Beta club convention.

Meridian

Valedictorian: Taress Rena Bosecker. She received the Valedictorian Scholarship from Shawnee Community College, the President's Scholarship to Southeast Missouri State University, a Southern Illinois University grant and a Merit Scholarship. She plans to attend Shawnee Community College, then transfer to Southeast. While in high school she was involved in Beta club, National Honor Society, English club, a Scholar Bowl member, Future Problem Solving Team, SADD, foreign language club and senior class secretary. She is the daughter of John and Marilyn Bosecker of Villa Ridge, Ill.

Salutatorian: Valencia Clark. She plans to attend University of Illinois with a scholarship. She also received a Merit Scholarship. In high school, she was involved in Scholar Bowl, Beta club, National Honor Society, foreign language club, Future Problem Solving Team, FHA where she was president, softball, SADD, gifted program and the tutoring program. She is the daughter of Valeria Clark of Huntsville, Texas, and lived with her aunt, Vivaca Clark of Mound City, Ill.

Cairo

Valedictorian: Jackson W. Liong. He plans to attend Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. While in high school he was involved in band, Scholar Bowl, JETS, math team, science club, Spanish club, chess club, National Honor Society, Beta club and the Principal's Advisory Council. He received college credit through the escrow program at Shawnee Community College. He is the son of Manuel and Elizabeth Liong.

Salutatorian: Jean-Angele McHarry. She received a President's Scholarship to attend Southeast Missouri State University. In high school she was involved in National Honor Society, Beta club, math team, Scholar Bowl, JETS and advanced studies. She is the daughter of Melbourne and Cheri Helton.
