Money will be raised for cystic fibrosis research at the 2000 Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's 10K walk Saturday at Cape County Park North.
The walk, sponsored by Alliance Blue Cross Blue Shield and presented by Union Planters Bank and Dr. Scott Gibbs, is expected to attract more than 200 walkers and raise more than $15,000 for the CF Foundation's Gateway Chapter.
Cystic fibrosis is the No. 1 genetic disorder of children and young adults in the United States. The 2000 event will take place in more than 275 sites across the country.
On Saturday, registration at Cape County Park North will begin at 8 a.m. with the walk scheduled to start at 9. Following the walk, participants will be treated to a complimentary barbecue lunch, giveaways and entertainment.
