WEDNESDAY LAST DAY TO REGISTER FOR BBQ CONTEST
Wednesday is the deadline to register for the BBQ Fest which is being hosted by the Agri-Business Committee of the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce. The cook-off teams are to be amateurs or backyard cooks and can consist of one or more members, said Edward L. Snider, chairman of the event.
A trophy and $100 will be given to the highest scoring team and trophies and/or ribbons will be given to the top three teams in each BBQ category. The categories are: hamburgers, beef kebabs, pork Boston butts and pork spare ribs. Judging of the teams will begin at noon on Aug. 21.
The fee for registration is $15 and to enter your team call Snider at 335-3521 or the Chamber office at 335-3312.
