The Cape County Chapter of the American Red Cross, KWKZ-FM and J Hangin' C Productions will host Western Dance Days at Stroder Country in Jackson June 18.

Event coordinator Jack C. Watt said the event will be held to raise funds to purchase a Disaster Services van for the Red Cross Chapter. "The local Red Cross Chapter desperately needs the van," said Watt.

Added Watt,"The flood of 1993, last November's flash floods in Southeast Missouri and recently the levy break at Miller City, Ill., took their toll on the chapter's 1976 van, which traveled 80,000 miles."

Said Mary Burton, executive director of the Cape County Chapter of the American Red Cross,"Understandably, our present van is in considerable disrepair. In order to service our communities in time of disaster, it is imperative that we replace it."
