She was born April 19, 1916, in Brownwood, Missouri, to the late Edward and Emma Maag Copman. She and Raymond Surface were married Nov. 21, 1939, in Jackson, and he preceded her in death Jan. 18, 1990...

HANNIBAL, Mo. -- Aileen Copman Surface, 102, formerly of Delta passed away Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018, at Luther Manor in Hannibal.

She was born April 19, 1916, in Brownwood, Missouri, to the late Edward and Emma Maag Copman. She and Raymond Surface were married Nov. 21, 1939, in Jackson, and he preceded her in death Jan. 18, 1990.

Aileen was a homemaker and babysat (and dearly loved) several children including Pam and Sandy Surface, Kim Nothdurft and Tonya Nothdurft, Gail and Kay Moore and Cindy Gloth, Jay, Robin and Troy Parks as well as many nieces and nephews. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Delta, where she taught Bible school and Sunday school classes.

She is survived by two daughters, Sharon (Chuck) Mayrand of Hannibal and Brenda (Larry) Potterfield of Columbia, Missouri; four grandchildren, Melody (Carl) Peiter, Russell (April) Potterfield, Sara (Nick) Potterfield and Jessie Mayrand White; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was also preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers.

Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Delta.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church, with her son-in-law, the Rev. Charles Mayrand, officiating. Burial will be at Kenyon Cemetery in Delta.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to First Baptist Church of Delta or Luther Manor Retirement & Nursing Center.
