Alfred "Al" D. Lafleur, age 86, of Cape Girardeau passed away Saturday, Oct. 5, 2002, at his home. He was born June 8, 1916, in Cicero, Ill., the son of the late Otto and Ruth Kennedy Lafleur. He married Ruth Chilcutt Sept. 4, 1971, and she survives...

Alfred "Al" D. Lafleur, age 86, of Cape Girardeau passed away Saturday, Oct. 5, 2002, at his home.

He was born June 8, 1916, in Cicero, Ill., the son of the late Otto and Ruth Kennedy Lafleur. He married Ruth Chilcutt Sept. 4, 1971, and she survives.

Other survivors include a grandson, a great-grandson, two nieces and a nephew, as well as three special friends Joe, Melanie and Helen.

Mr. Lafleur proudly served in the Army during World War II from 1942 to 1945.

He loved working with children for many years in his capacity as educator and administrator in the state of California school system.

A very private and humble man, Mr. Lafleur was a gentleman to the end and is now at peace with his Heavenly Father.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Lorimier Cemetery by the Rev. Raymond McAfee.

McCombs Funeral Home of Cape Girardeau is in charge of arrangements.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Southeast Hospice.
