Alan Kenneth "Rack" Jones, 87, of Millersville passed away Thursday, Sept. 3, 2020, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born Dec. 23, 1932, in Cape Girardeau County, son of Tony and Vonnie Eddleman Jones. He and Irene Wunderlich were married April 19, 1952, in Cape Girardeau. Alan Kenneth "Rack" Jones, 87, of Millersville passed away Thursday, Sept. 3, 2020, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Dec. 23, 1932, in Cape Girardeau County, son of Tony and Vonnie Eddleman Jones. He and Irene Wunderlich were married April 19, 1952, in Cape Girardeau. She preceded him in death Aug. 31, 1994.

Alan retired in 1986 from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company after 35 years and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Loving survivors include a son, Wayne Jones of Jackson; daughters, Carol (Jerry) Curtis of Perryville, Missouri, Loeta (the late Robert) Hahs of Oak Ridge, Leila Jones of Boaz, Alabama, and Laura (Korky) Bryant of Chaffee, Missouri; brothers, Freeman Jones of Farmington, Missouri and Ronnie Jones of Jackson; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Irene Jones, he was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Jones, and a great-grandson, Sam Kennedy.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Elijah Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorials are appreciated to the Missouri Conservation Department or the church or charity of the donor's choice.
