Alberta Jean Iaconetti, 89, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Friday, June 15, 2012, at her home in Longmont, Colo.

She was born Dec. 17, 1922, in Chaffee, Mo., to Albert James and Amanda Cate Nichols. She graduated from Central High School in Cape Girardeau in 1940.

Alberta married Sam Iaconetti in 1957 in St. Louis. Her early married years were spent in the St. Louis area. She also lived in Cape Girardeau and the Kansas City, Mo., area prior to moving to Longmont in 2008.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sam; a sister, Amelda F. Wilson; and a stepbrother, James Southworth.

Survivors include a daughter, Alicia "Lisa" (Ben) Weir of Longmont; a son, Nick (Elizabeth) Iaconetti of Manchester, Mo.; a grandson, Robert B. (Kate) Weir of Columbia, Mo.; and a nephew, Jim (Jan) Southworth of Nokomis, Fla.

Cremation was entrusted to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory in Longmont.

Inurnment will be Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at Old Thebes Cemetery in Thebes, Ill.
