MORLEY -- Aldy Vance Phillips of New Bedford, Mass., died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 1992, in a Boston, Mass., hospital. He was born Sept. 9, 1921, in Lamar, Ark., son of Lee A. and Sylvia Noe Phillips. He and Hilda DeMello were married Oct. 28, 1943. Phillips owned and operated Square Deal Garage in New Bedford from 1943-90. He was a member of a Shrine club and Masonic lodge, and served in the U.S. Coast Guard in World War II...

MORLEY -- Aldy Vance Phillips of New Bedford, Mass., died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 1992, in a Boston, Mass., hospital.

He was born Sept. 9, 1921, in Lamar, Ark., son of Lee A. and Sylvia Noe Phillips. He and Hilda DeMello were married Oct. 28, 1943.

Phillips owned and operated Square Deal Garage in New Bedford from 1943-90. He was a member of a Shrine club and Masonic lodge, and served in the U.S. Coast Guard in World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Wayne Phillips of the home; four brothers, Velmer Phillips of Algonquin, Ill., Verlon Phillips of Murphysboro, Ill., Vernon and Vester Phillips of Morley; two sisters, Arzella Newell of Pekin, Ill., and Izola Luttrell of Cordova, Tenn.

Private service will be at 10 a.m. today at Potter Funeral Home in West Port, Mass. Burial will be in West Port Cemetery.
