Alfred "Al" "Mike" Micheal Eby, son of the late James A. and Vida E. Taylor Eby, was born Dec. 26, 1946, in Cape Girardeau and departed his life suddenly Monday, Nov. 20, 2023, at his home in Whitewater at the age of 76. Alfred "Al" "Mike" Micheal Eby, son of the late James A. and Vida E. Taylor Eby, was born Dec. 26, 1946, in Cape Girardeau and departed his life suddenly Monday, Nov. 20, 2023, at his home in Whitewater at the age of 76.

He was a 1964 graduate of Delta High School and a 1968 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. He was a member of Delta Tau Alpha fraternity, an honor agricultural fraternity.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, Mike served in the 1st Cavalry Division in Vietnam.

He was a 29-year, 9-month employee at Procter & Gamble in Cape Girardeau before retiring. He owned Eby Farms LLC. in Whitewater.

Mike was a Christian and a member of the Lynwood Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau. He was a 50-year member of Whitewater Grand Lodge A.F. & A.M. of Missouri No. 417. Mike served on Delta School Board for several years. That board built the new Delta High School.

On Nov. 28, 1969, he was united in marriage to Sheila F. Myers in Chaffee, Missouri, and she survives. To this union two children were born.

Besides his wife, survivors include one son, Alfred Micheal "Mike" Eby II (Julie) of Whitewater; daughter, Michelle "Missy" Ikerman (Alan) of Whitewater; three granddaughters, Gwyneth, Julia and Hannah Ikerman, all of Whitewater; sister, Sue Traw of Chaffee; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Betty and Gary Proffer of Chaffee; nephew, Bryan Traw; great-nephew, Blake Traw; and by cousins and many friends.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

Funeral will beat 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 27, at Lynwood Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Mark Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at the Ebenezer Cemetery in Whitewater.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to Lynwood Baptist Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral visitation and at the Lynwood Baptist Church.
