COMMERCE, Mo. -- Alice Foster, 94, of Commerce died Monday, Jan. 5, 2009, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Aug. 9, 1914, at Commerce, daughter of William and Effie Kent Lumm. She and Cletus Ivan Foster were married May 8, 1935, at Commerce. He died March 16, 1964.

Foster was an inspector at Ralph Edwards Sportswear. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and Better Community Club.

Survivors include two sons, Bobby and James "Bill" Foster of Commerce; a daughter, Eloise "Snooks" Pevey of St. Charles, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, a brother and three sisters.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. David Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery at Commerce.
