Allen Lane Peetz, 54, of Jackson passed away Thursday, Sept. 30, 2021, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. Allen Lane Peetz, 54, of Jackson passed away Thursday, Sept. 30, 2021, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Jan. 29, 1967, in Cape Girardeau, son of Edwin "Junior" and Elsie Nitsch Peetz.

Allen was a 1985 graduate of Jackson High School. He graduated from Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, with a diesel mechanic degree.

He was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, where he was baptized and confirmed. He attended Cape County Cowboy Church near Oak Ridge.

He loved his horses, anything to do with farming, especially cowboying. He lived life to the fullest and he never met a stranger.

Loving survivors include his parents; two brothers, Lonnie (Lea Ann) Peetz of St. Joseph, Missouri, and Shawn (Jody) Peetz of Jackson.

Also surviving are his maternal aunts, Allen's godmother Elda, (the late Kenny) Siebert and Alice (Bruce) Benton of Jackson; several cousins; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Frank and Linda Nitsch; his paternal grandparents, Edwin and Emilie Peetz; paternal aunts and uncles, Bernice Overbeck, Clarence Peetz, Wilbert Peetz, Ruby Sander and Helen Moll.

Visitation was Sunday and will continue from 9 a.m. until service time today in Chapel A at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. today at the funeral home, with the Revs. Jim Matthews and Rodger Kiepe officiating. Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Cape County Cowboy Church Youth Rodeo or Emmanuel United Church of Christ.

Pallbearers will be Steve Maintz, Doug Overbeck, Dean Sawyer, Richie Kranawetter, Sean Gray and Jeff Lorberg.
