KELSO, Mo. -- Andrew Frank Kieffer, 88, of Kelso died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2006, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born March 22, 1918, at Chaffee, Mo., son of Frank Joseph and Mary Bles Kieffer. He and Lucille Uding were married July 15, 1944.
Kieffer was a staff seargeant in the U.S. Army in World War II. He worked for Ste. Genevieve Building and Stone, then in 1950 moved to farm in the Kelso area. He was a member of the St. Augustine Catholic Church and a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, David Kieffer and Kevin Kieffer, both of Kelso; two daughters, Carolynne Kieffer and Nancy Kieffer, both of St. Louis; a sister, Mary Backfisch of Benton, Mo.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, adaughter and two sisters.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. Parish prayers will be held at 6 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso. The Revs. Oliver Clavin and Tom Kiefer will officiate, with burial in St. Augustine Cemetery in Kelso with military graveside rites.
