She was born Jan. 13, 1927, in Lawrenceton, Missouri, daughter of Herman and Christine Grither Schwent. She and Herbert J. Behrle were married Oct. 8, 1949. He preceded her in death Nov. 7, 1973...

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Angeline Christine Behrle, 91, of Perryville died Monday, July 23, 2018, at Independence Care Center in Perryville.

She was born Jan. 13, 1927, in Lawrenceton, Missouri, daughter of Herman and Christine Grither Schwent. She and Herbert J. Behrle were married Oct. 8, 1949. He preceded her in death Nov. 7, 1973.

Angeline had worked at the International Shoe factory, Prince Gardner and Tricon.

She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. She was an avid quilter and gardener. Angeline was instrumental in forming the Sheltered Workshop, formerly the Association for Retarded Citizens and now United Enterprises.

Survivors include three daughters and a son, Diana (Larry) Deneke of Whitewater, Patricia "Patty" Hunt of Canton, Georgia, Mary (David) McDowell of Crystal City, Missouri, and Robert "Bobby" Behrle of Perryville; two brothers, Oscar Schwent of Perryville and Bernell Schwent of Desloge, Missouri; 10 grandchildren, Jeff (Karyn) Hunt, Matt (Elmira) Hunt, Adam (Sandra) Hunt, Wesley Hunt, Sarah (Lee) Maness, Nathan Deneke, Josh (Jessica) Deneke, Zach (Ashley) Deneke, Garrett McDowell and Sean McDowell; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, John Behrle; a son-in-law, Larry Hunt; a sister, Bernardine Sauer; two brothers, Milferd and Virgil Schwent; and infant brother, Bernard.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Monday at Young and Sons Funeral Home, with a rosary at 8:30 a.m. Monday.

She will then be taken to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church for funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to United Enterprises or My Camp Residential.
