Anita Agnes "Needy" Ziegler, 78, of Benton, died Saturday, May 6, 2006, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Sept. 21, 1927, in New Hamburg, daughter of Albert and Cecelia Westrich Glastetter. She and Arthur L. Ziegler were married on Aug. 12, 1947, at the St. Lawrence Church in New Hamburg.
She was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church and St. Ann Sodality. Mrs. Ziegler was co-owner of Ziegler's Bestway in Benton from 1976 to 1993. She was also self-employed as a Stanley Home Product Dealer for more than 40 years.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Randall Lee Ziegler of Benton; a daughter, Ada Ree Neely of Benton; five grandchildren, Jon Paul (Laura) Ziegler of Fort Irwin, Calif., Barry (Christy) Ziegler of Scott City, Brandi (Chris) Kilburn of Benton, Lee Daniel Ziegler of Benton, Anita (Dwight) Buckner of Benton; and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Vera Burger of New Hamburg; a niece; and four nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Benton Chapel. Parish prayers will be at 6:30 p.m.
Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Denis Church with the Rev. Normand Varone officiating. Burial will be at St. Denis Church Cemetery in Benton.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or St. Denis School in Benton.
