Anna Henderson

THEBES, Ill. -- Anna Elizabeth Henderson, 87, of Osage Beach, Mo., formerly of Thebes, died Sunday, July 25, 2010, at Osage Beach Health Care Center.

She was born Oct. 22, 1922, in Thebes, to Edgar and Bertha Roberts Bledsoe. She married Marty Henderson on Nov. 2, 1944. He preceded her in death Nov. 1, 1983.

Henderson was a member of Alexander Free Will Baptist Church. She had worked as a nurse aide in nursing homes.

Survivors include two daughters, Gloria (Frank) Curley of Thebes, Catherine Hoban of Mount Vernon, N.Y.; six sons, Hollie Henderson of Thebes, Wallace (Mikie) of Sarasota, Fla., Martie (Dawn) Henderson of Amboy, Ill., William Henderson of Springfield, Ill., David (Alrea) Henderson of Olive Branch, Ill., Steven Henderson of Virden, Ill.; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a daughter, Charlotte Henderson in 1960; a son, Roy Alfred Henderson in 1970; two sisters, Lora Ford and Ora Mae Phillips; five brothers, Arvel, Leslie, Walter, Charles and Dwight Bledsoe.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to service time Thursday at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Larry Buckles officiating. Interment will be in Mount Zion Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
