EAST PRAIRIE -- Arlie E. Baker, 82, formerly of East Prairie, died Thursday, Aug. 22, 1996, at his home in Alta Loma, Calif.
He was born July 17, 1914, in East Prairie, son of Lawrence and Mary Etta Gregory Baker.
He lived in California the past 40 years where he was employed as a maintenance supervisor with Ameron Steel before retirement.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Moreno Valley.
He married Dessie Skinner on May 13, 1933. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Ron L. Baker, Ontario, Canada, and Dennis Baker of Salem, Ore.; a daughter, Helen Keith of Alta Loma; three sisters, Doris Jenkins of Dixon, Ill., Jeanetta Brown of Charleston and Dorothy Weakley of Glen Allen; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, with the Rev. Joe Skinner officiating. Interment will be in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
