PERRYVILLE -- Funeral service for Arthur French of Perryville will be held at 2 p.m. today at Young and Sons Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Bradley Smith will officiate, with burial in Whitewater Christian Cemetery near Yount.

French, 96, died Sunday, Aug. 24, 1997, at Perry Oaks Healthcare.

He was born March 20, 1901, at Silver Lake, son of Oliver Perry and Cora Ida Eaves French. He and Ellen Marie Heaps were married Dec. 24, 1923. She died July 12, 1989.

French was a retired hog and agriculture farmer.

Survivors include four sons, Kenneth, Clovis and Herbert French, all of Perryville, Curtis French of Bell, Fla.; four daughters, Wanda Hahn of Arnold, Ruby Cox and Leona Drury of St. Ann, Judy Potter of Fenton; a brother, Harley French of Pico Rivera, Calif.; two sisters, Myrtle Parsons and Bertha Kennon of Fredericktown; 22 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, a sister, and a granddaughter.
