Audra Maxine Young Hill, 95, died Monday, Aug. 13, 2001, at the Lutheran Home.
She was born Nov. 7, 1905, in Piedmont, Mo., daughter of John and Rebecca McGlathlin Young. She married Hartford Ellington Hill Sr. Jan. 7, 1928, in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death April 21, 1983.
Audra Hill graduated from Piedmont High School and attended Southwest Missouri State College in Springfield.
She taught grade school in Piedmont several years prior to relocating with her family to Cape Girardeau. For more than 25 years Mrs. Hill operated a wholesale and retail gift and antique business with her husband before retiring in 1971.
She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and Eastern Star.
Mrs. Hill is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Hartford and Kathleen Hill Jr. of Cape Girardeau; six grandchildren, Cris Edwards of Jackson, Mo., Mary Wallis of Franklin, Mass., Janice Hill of Cape Girardeau, Jay Hill of Kennesaw, Ga., Jeanne Shrum of Cape Girardeau, Judith Hill of Columbia, Mo.; five great-grandchildren, Matthew Edwards, Jessica Edwards, Amanda Shrum, Jason Hill and Kaley Hill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister.
There will be no visitation.
Graveside service will be conducted at St. Mary's Cemetery at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, 2001. Ms. Karen Mustoe of Centenary United Methodist Church will officiate.
Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn., 38105-1942.
