MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Audrey Evelyn Beard, 94, of Marble Hill died Friday, Oct. 6, 2006, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born July 23, 1912, at Scopus, Mo., daughter of Jesse F. and Doshie Jane Barnett Long. She and Walter Beard were married March 27, 1932. He died July 27, 1977.

Beard was of the Jehovah's Witness belief.

Survivors include a son, Gilbert Beard of Marquand, Mo.; five daughters, Shirley Probst, June Lincoln, Gladys Glover and Mary Tyler, all of Marble Hill, Gloria Hoxworth of Oak Ridge; a sister, Ruby Roe of East Alton, Ill.; 32 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sons, two brothers, four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Harold Althen officiating. Burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill.
