STE. GENEVIEVE, Mo. -- Barbara A. Hankins, 63, of Ste. Genevieve died Monday, Dec. 10, 2007, at Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital in Ste. Genevieve.

She was born March 11, 1944, at St. Louis, to William E. and Helen Seitz Wentzelman. She and Michael P. Hankins were married April 18, 1958.

Barbara owned and operated the Southern Hotel along with her husband, Michael. She was a member of the St. Louis Historical Society and worked for the Fox Theater as an operations manager for four years.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Michael P. (friend Nate) Hankins of Cape Coral, Fla., and Nicholas (Sue Lawrence) Hankins of St. Louis; two daughters, Dawn Hankins and Karen Tremblay of St. Louis; a sister, Sharon Robberson of Chattanooga, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Kiana Hankins and John Lawrence; and two nieces, Heather and Marla.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church in Ste. Genevieve. The minister will be Lorraine Stange.
