CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Ben Kennedy, son of Yvonne Schlitt and Michael Kennedy, was born July 29, 1986, in St. Louis and departed his life Friday, July 31, 2020, at his home in Chaffee at the age of 34.

Ben was a proud 10-year veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. He loved to be around family and friends having a good time.

Survivors include his mother, Yvonne Schlitt of Oran, Missouri; father and stepmother, Michael and Hope Kennedy of Portland, Tennessee; brother, Johnathen (Cathy) Kennedy of Boiling Springs, Pennsylvania; sisters, Valerie Kennedy of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Rebecca (Joshua) Gaspard of Chaffee; and eight nieces and nephews, Emily, Alice, Damian, Vincent, Alaina, Joseph, Bryson and Winston.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

Memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the committal shelter at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Mission 22 or Wounded Warrior Project.
