Bernadine C. Stratman, 88, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, July 21, 2018, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born June 15, 1930, in Glennonville, Missouri, to William and Cecelia Fortman Stratman.
She and Sheldon Stratman Jr. were married June 15, 1949, at Glennonville.
Her full-time job was raising her three boys, taking care of the home and supporting her husband, Sheldon.
Survivors include her son, Darryl Stratman of Grassy, Missouri; two sisters, Martha Shelton of Crestview, Florida, and Mildred Stratman of Warden, Illinois; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Stratman of Cahokia, Illinois; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, William (Phyllis) Stratman Jr. and Sheldon Stratman III; a daughter-in-law, Pam Stratman; and a sister, Mary Francis Kerperien.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral will be at noon Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Allan Saunders officiating. Entombment will be at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau.
Memorial contributions may be given to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
