Betty J. McCart, 65, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, July 2, 2018, at Southeast Hospital.

She was born Dec. 4, 1952, in Marble Hill, Missouri, to Wilbert Earl and Sylvia Belle Julius Williams.

She and Charles McCart were married April 20, 1991, at Cape Girardeau.

She graduated from Oak Ridge High School in 1971 and Southeast Missouri State University in 1981.

She worked for the Missouri Department of Mental Health for 25 years.

She loved antiquing, cooking, shopping, camping and traveling.

She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include her husband, Charles McCart of Cape Girardeau; mother, Sylvia Belle Williams of Jackson; a daughter, Elizabeth Nicole "Niki" Johnson of Jackson; three stepdaughters, Kimberly Beussink and Lesa (Tim) Conway, both of Cape Girardeau, and Christina (Kane) Cotton of Monument, Colorado; four grandchildren, Danielle Beussink, Reese Johnson, Jaden Cotton and Sophia Cotton; a great-grandchild, Lyla; two sisters, Ruth Ann Fortner and Teri Sue Noce; four brothers, George Williams of Jackson, Edward (Vicki) Williams of Scott City, Donald Williams of Mooreland, Oklahoma, and Randy (Rochelle) Noce of Jackson; two sisters-in-law, Marilyn (Jim) Poston and Cheryl (Jim) Lawrence, both of Cape Girardeau; two brothers-in-law, Jerry McCart of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, and Bob (Chris) McCart of Kansas City, Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews; and best friend, Claudette Hency.

She was preceded in death by her father and a sister, Mary Ramsey.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m., followed by a Knights of Columbus rosary.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau with the Rev. Allan Saunders officiating.

Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
