Betty Lois Jauch McLain, 76, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Aug. 26, 2013, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center. She was born Dec. 17, 1936, in Whitewater, to Velma Jauch. She and Ivan Ernest McLain were married June 19, 1954, at Oriole. Betty was a member of Red Star Baptist Church. She had worked at the former Cape Girardeau Osteopathic Hospital, Cape Girardeau County collector's office in Jackson, Chaffee General Hospital in Chaffee, Mo., and Wal-Mart in Jackson for more than 10 years...

Betty Lois Jauch McLain, 76, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Aug. 26, 2013, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center.

She was born Dec. 17, 1936, in Whitewater, to Velma Jauch. She and Ivan Ernest McLain were married June 19, 1954, at Oriole.

Betty was a member of Red Star Baptist Church. She had worked at the former Cape Girardeau Osteopathic Hospital, Cape Girardeau County collector's office in Jackson, Chaffee General Hospital in Chaffee, Mo., and Wal-Mart in Jackson for more than 10 years.

Survivors include a son, Randy (Judy) McLain of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Cathy Proffer of Advance, Mo., and Penny (Curt) Johns of Jackson; two brothers, Howard (Sandra) Reece Jr. of Cape Girardeau and Bill (Marilyn) Reece of Murray, Ky.; a sister, Evelyn (Gerald) Eaker of Jackson; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, husband, a brother and two grandsons, Rusty Watson and Colin McLain.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Red Star Baptist Church, with the Rev. Rick Crump officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.

Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
