Betty "Mamma Jo" Schuette, 78, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, March 18, 2010, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

She was born May 21, 1931, to Everett and Leona Ourth Margrabe. She married Robert D. Hanna of Chaffee, Mo. He preceded her in death.

She was loved by more than 300 "Spare Kids" whom she called "Tadpoles."

Survivors include a son, David L. Schuette of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Karen E. Hanna of Bellingham, Wash.; two grandchildren, Kristopher and Chayse Schuette of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Dorothy Kuntze of Jackson; and her former husband, Loren E. Schuette of Cape Girardeau.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, William Margrabe; and a sister, Alena Wright.

As per her wishes, she was cremated.

Crain Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau was in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Shriners Children's Hospital, and can be sent to the funeral home.
