Beverly Corlene Gibson, 75, of Jackson died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2020, at her home.
She was born Dec. 18, 1944, in Charleston, Missouri, to Levi and Gertrude Tyler Wilson.
She and John Gibson were married May 28, 1964, at Gravel Ridge Church in Charleston.
Beverly worked as a licensed practical nurse, but went on to get her registered nursing degree. She worked on the cardiac floor at Saint Francis Medical Center and in the hospice program at Dexter (Missouri) Hospital. She also worked for ARC as the director of its group home in Dexter, helped with the sheltered workshop and organized Special Olympics.
She and John were inseparable. She loved her grandkids, especially her only grandson, and loved to take care of people.
Her interests, which she truly enjoyed, included sewing, quilting, garage sales, antiquing and shopping.
She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her husband, John Gibson of Jackson; son, Jon (Rachel) Gibson of Spring Hill, Tennessee; daughter, Joni Seyer of Kelso, Missouri; and five grandchildren, Jacob, Taylor and Jordan Seyer, Emily and Amanda Gibson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Eunice and Lola; brothers, Joe and Gary; and son-in-law, Chris Seyer.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Jackson,.
Service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Roy Jones officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
