Brunswick Funeral Home in Shallotte, N.C., was in charge of arrangements.

Brown, 66, died Sunday, April 5, 1998, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.

He was born Aug. 29, 1931, at Scopus, son of William Dellon and Nellie Conder Brown. He married the former Dorothy Looney.

Brown was a retired salesman and textile mill owner. He was a member of Ocean Drive Presbyterian Church, Masonic Lodge 127 in Paducah, Ky., and Scottish Rite in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Survivors include his wife; a son, William Brown of Winston-Salem; a daughter, Teresa Dills of Socastee, S.C.; a brother, Paul Brown of Jackson; seven sisters, Orpha Marshall of Eureka, Lillian Hahn, Oleta Yamnitz and Idell Dockins, all of Jackson, Jesse Quade of Burfordville, Beatrice Welker and Essie Abernathy of Wood River, Ill.; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
