Billy Charles Zimmerman, 81, of Scott City died Monday, May 4, 2015, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Sept. 25, 1933, in Illmo (Scott City), to Charles Edward and Edna Hulda Brenneisen Zimmerman. He and Geraldine "Geri" Janet Kohl were married Jan. 29, 1960.

Billy was a union pipe fitter. He was a member of Eisleben Lutheran Church, Planning and Zoning Committee, and was instrumental in getting the caboose, all in Scott City, and served on Illmo Special Road District.

Survivors include his wife, Geri; two sons, Mark (Laura) Zimmerman of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Randy Zimmerman of Sheridan, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Trevor, Scott and Ryleigh Zimmerman; and a niece, Deborah Crews of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three half brothers.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City, and from 10 a.m. until time of service Friday at Eisleben Church.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with Marty Hasz officiating. Burial will be in Eisleben Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Eisleben Ladies Aid or Eisleben Sunday School.
