DONGOLA, Ill. -- Bon Hoffner, 76, of Dongola, died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 1992, at the VA Hospital in Marion. He was born Feb. 25, 1915, at Dongola, son of Henry and Dessie Lingle Hoffner. He and Beatrice Acuff were married March 30, 1946. She died Dec. 9, 1972...

DONGOLA, Ill. -- Bon Hoffner, 76, of Dongola, died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 1992, at the VA Hospital in Marion.

He was born Feb. 25, 1915, at Dongola, son of Henry and Dessie Lingle Hoffner. He and Beatrice Acuff were married March 30, 1946. She died Dec. 9, 1972.

Hoffner was a member of First Baptist Church here, and Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455. He was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Aden of Dongola, and three granddaughters.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Crain Funeral Chapel here. The Rev. Lucien Bozarth will officiate. Burial will be in Dongola American Legion Cemetery, with graveside rites by VFW Post 3455.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Friday.
