EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Brenda Kay Freed Guinn, 63, of East Prairie passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Sept. 9, 1949, in Sikeston, Mo., to the late Paul and Mary Ranzie Freed. She and Melvin Guinn were married Dec. 31, 1979.

Brenda lived most of her life in East Prairie, where she worked for 35 years at Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. She was a member of First Church of God in East Prairie.

Survivors include her husband; four brothers, Everett (Rose) Manning of Carmel, Ind., Richard (Norma) Freed of Scott City and Donnie Freed and Michael (Susan) Freed of Sikeston; two sisters, Gail (Floyd) Presley of Sikeston and Kathy (Bob) Himes of Miner, Mo.; five nephews, David Manning, Scott Manning, Chris Himes, Dalton Freed and Paul Freed; three nieces, Dawn Armbruster, Misty Hamm and Lauren Presley; and a host of family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Travis Freed.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Paul Matte and Larry Smith officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.

Pallbearers will be David Manning, Scott Manning, Dalton Freed, Paul Freed, Tim Armbruster and Michael Hamm. Honorary pallbearers will be Stanley Tripplett and Jeff Tripplett.
