Du QUOIN, Ill. — Brenda Kay Taylor-McKinnies, 73, of Du Quoin died Friday, June 30, 2017, in Jackson.

Born June 2, 1944, in Painton, Missouri, to the late W.D. and Dorch Hillard Jester, she was an office manager and co-owner of We Care Transportation. She was a member of First United Pentecostal Church in Du Quoin. On June 14, 1959, she married Glendall Ray Taylor; he preceded her in death Jan. 8, 2008. On Nov. 25, 2015, she married the Rev. Charles Lee McKinnies, who survives of the home in Du Quoin.

Additional survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Clint Atchison of Jackson and Janice and Ray Dean Hanselman of Oran, Missouri; two brothers and sisters-in-law, the Rev. Garrett and Pat Jester of Washington state and Lloyd and Marion Jester of Wisconsin; and one sister, Betsey Jester of Oran. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Ty and Brittany Atchison, Quentin and Kristin Hanselman, Cassie and Ryan Newcomb and Corey Hanselman; and five great-grandchildren, Porter, Roanie, Raylea, Hadden and Gracelynn, and one on the way. Numerous nieces, nephews and lifetime friends also survive.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, Missouri.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Apostolic Promise Church, 70 N. Mount Auburn Road in Cape Girardeau. Officiating will be the Rev. Robert Smithey, the Rev. Charles Lee McKinnies, the Rev. Timothy Lee, the Rev. Garrett Jester and the Rev. Dan McKinnies. Interment will follow in the Forrest Hills Cemetery near Morley, Missouri.

A memorial service will be at 5 p.m. July 9 at First United Pentecostal Church in Du Quoin, with the Rev. Dan McKinnies officiating.
