ZALMA, Mo. -- Carl Charlie Corbin, 91, of Zalma died Friday, Aug. 15, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born Feb. 12, 1912, at Zalma, son of Forrest and Cora Cullins Corbin. He and Odetta Rose were married May 17, 1937, in Pontiac, Mich. She died March 22, 1999...

ZALMA, Mo. -- Carl Charlie Corbin, 91, of Zalma died Friday, Aug. 15, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Feb. 12, 1912, at Zalma, son of Forrest and Cora Cullins Corbin. He and Odetta Rose were married May 17, 1937, in Pontiac, Mich. She died March 22, 1999.

Carl was a graduate of Zalma High School and Southeast Missouri State University. He had been a teacher and coach at Zalma High School, and retired as director of Boy Scouts of America. He was a member of Zalma Masonic Lodge 545 AF&AM.

Survivors include two sons, Ron Corbin of Big Spring, Texas, Gary Corbin of St. Louis; a granddaughter raised as a daughter, Kelle Corbin of Zalma; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters.

Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance, Mo., from 5 to 8 p.m. today. Masonic rites will be at 7.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Eldo Eaker officiating. Burial will be in Baker Cemetery at Marble Hill, Mo.
