EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Carmen N. Barnes, 81, of East Prairie died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2001, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. She was born Dec. 26, 1919, in Polk County, Tenn., daughter of James Earl and Beulah O'Dell Stinnett Weems. She and Robert Marion "Bob" Cade were married Aug. 5, 1938. He died Jan. 25, 1965. She and Noah Barnes were married in September 1976. He died April 30, 1996...

EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Carmen N. Barnes, 81, of East Prairie died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2001, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was born Dec. 26, 1919, in Polk County, Tenn., daughter of James Earl and Beulah O'Dell Stinnett Weems. She and Robert Marion "Bob" Cade were married Aug. 5, 1938. He died Jan. 25, 1965. She and Noah Barnes were married in September 1976. He died April 30, 1996.

Barnes was a member of First Christian Church and also attended Full Gospel Church.

Survivors include a son, James Cade of Phoenix, Ariz.; two daughters, Naomi Lynn of Wickliffe, Ky., Patricia Tabor of Phoenix; three brothers, James Weems of Lemay, Mo., Ernest and Bobby Weems of East Prairie; three sisters, Bonnie Carlyle, Golden Day and Faye McGill of East Prairie; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, two brothers and her twin sister.

Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 4 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Fred Girdwood and Mike Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery.
