BERTRAND -- Carrie Ester Western, 85, Bertrand Route 1, died Monday, Jan. 13, 1992, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
She was born Feb. 13, 1906, in Henderson County, Tennessee, daughter of P.L. and Cora Creasy Carlyle. She married Jim Davidson Western Sept. 25, 1924.
Western was a member of Bement Baptist Church near here.
Survivors include her husband; five sons, Billy Western of House Springs, Herbert Western of Sikeston, Carl, Jimmy and Lloyd Western of Bertrand; four daughters, Alma Smith of Morehouse, Mable Holmes of Miner, Berma Baker of House Springs, Linda Ramsey of Sikeston; a half brother, P.L. Carlyle Jr. of East Prairie; five sisters, Velma McKenzie and Julie Weems of East Prairie, Betty Vault and Patsy Mays of Sikeston, Martha Williams of Belleville, Ill.; 35 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son and daughter.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Shelby Funeral Chapel in East Prairie. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. today.
