Cecil Jones

FRIEDHEIM, Mo. -- Cecil J. Jones Sr., 71, of Friedheim died Sunday, March 5, 2006, at Friedheim.

He was born Jan. 23, 1935, at Seventy Six, Mo., son of Arnold Waldo Jones and Eva Gertrude Logsdon Jones Rhyne. He and Shirley J. McGee were married July 22, 1968.

Jones had worked for All Weather Septic Systems of Mapaville, Mo., and was a mechanic for area farmers. He was a former member of VFW.

He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and then served in the U.S. Air Force.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, James Elmore of Kerrville, Texas, Cecil Jones Jr. and Rodney Jones of Friedheim; a daughter, Catherine Lee of Friedheim; two brothers, Harley Rhyne of Friedheim, Lester Jones of Houston, Texas; three sisters, Reta Clements and Marcella Byram of Perryville, Mo., Yvonne Probst of Friedheim; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two grandchildren.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville from 4 to 9 p.m. today, and Wednesday from 6:30 a.m. to service time.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Paul Carter officiating. Military honors will be provided by VFW Post 4282.
