DEXTER -- Cecil Vancil, 89, died Tuesday, July 9, 1996, at Gideon Care Center in Gideon.
He was born Aug. 20, 1906, at Bloomfield, son of Samuel Doran and Anna Williamson Vancil.
Vancil was a member of Pleasant Valley General Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include a sister, Erma Chrisman of Dexter.
He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. Thursday.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Doyle Corlew officiating. Burial will be in Triplett Cemetery near here.
