SIKESTON -- Charles Jouette Bryant Sr., 83, of Sikeston died Monday, Oct. 28, 1996, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 23, 1913, in Clarksville, Tenn., son of Robert Scott and Lana Maude Cook Bryant. He and Rozella Hubbard were married Oct. 21, 1936, at Morehouse.

Bryant had been a salesman with L.B. Price.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Charles "Sonny" Bryant Jr. of Sikeston; a daughter, Charlette Averitt of Denver, Colo.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by five brothers and a sister.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Dolan Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
